I just started using this pedal last weekend, I am borrowing it from a friend who’s away at college right now, (Thanks Corbin). I think that Danelectro in general is just a great company, and I am actually looking to buy one of their guitars sometime in the next few months. My point is that quality companies make quality items, and this, although inexpensive, is a quality item! It is a very simple pedal, just two knobs, (Volume and Overdrive) and the bypass switch. The distortion sounds like a cross between some awesome overdrive and some wicked fuzz, and it can go anywhere from light drive to heavy fuzzy awesomeness! My favorite thing about it is that it sounds crisp yet has a lot of low end distortion which is cool sounding.
The Positives
- Great sounding quality pedal, “Delicious tone!”
- Great price!
The Negatives
- Not true bypass switching
- Plastic case rather than metal (from what I have heard and seen this doesn’t seem to be a big problem)
- Not very adjustable, as you can see, there is only 2 knobs
Does it Rock? It’s a tremendous effect for a remarkably low price, so YES! I’m going to buy one as soon as my friend needs his back! I love having it on my board, and after seeing how awesome this pedal is I will probably try some of their other pedals.
